FAQ – Ecospace Belgium : Architecture Naturally
Unlike most modular building companies, Ecospace is run by professional architects who are passionate about contemporary design, quality and sustainability. Innovative solutions are explored using a hybrid of modern methods of construction – eliminating the problems of cost and time overruns of a traditionally procured building, not to mention quality.
It most certainly can, anything from a compact work space to an educational building or even a full house. Flexible modular or bespoke, the possibilities are endless.
Naturally. As an architectural practice, we know everyone’s idea of their perfect Ecospace is different. We can design whatever you want – whether it’s an Ecospace garden studio with a shower room or mini-kitchen, a holiday retreat, a house or something totally unique, just give us a call. There are thousands of possibilities.
This depends on the size and use and the location. You don’t have to worry though – as an architectural practice, we can carry out any planning applications for you.
Pretty much everything. Sustainable wood structure and cladding, sedum roof option, environmentally-friendly low energy lighting and heating and high performance insulation. And if you use your Ecospace building as your workplace, it’ll do wonders for your carbon footprint too. We use natural materials and avoid where possible the use of any wet trades, meaning your Ecospace building doesn’t require any decoration inside or out.
The short answer is, however big you want it. Standard external sizes of the studios are shown on the modular, but if you have a specific size or shape in mind, we can create it for you.
Providing the site is relatively level, our engineered system eliminates the need for a conventional concrete base and foundations for the studios. Your Ecospace building stands on adjustable steel shoes that bear on pre-cast concrete pads on a compacted sub-base. In other words, you won’t have to dig your whole garden up. For larger buildings, the foundations may vary, however our structural engineer is available to design this if necessary.
Not long, depending on the type of project and whether planning permission is required. For example a studio is usually 15 weeks. The average installation time for a typical studio 01, subject to site conditions, is around 5 days.
It most certainly is. Every Ecospace building is guaranteed for 10 years. Although, as they can be built to modern housing standards, they’re made to last a lifetime.
We certainly do, as Ecospace is managed by architects who also run an architectural practice Art 48, we are experienced at working on a diversity of projects in the residential, leisure and commercial sectors so please contact us should you wish to discuss any particular projects.
